We take polo boats and spraydecks for these sessions. These are tippier than river boats and if you aren't comfortable in one then come on Wednesday instead. Any questions ask Charlotte/Ben/Noah/Josh
Do you want to go kayaking in the cold and damp? Of course you do.
Meet at the boathouse at 7:15am, off the water by 8:30am so everyone can get to those all important 9am lectures. Will be a mix of sprints, drills, chat, and general hard work but also fun.
Cancelled due to the high river levels
Learn to roll a kayak, in a warm environment!
£6 for this week's session pool hire and transportation.
Bring a towel, something you are happy to wear in the boat in
the pool (Sports clothes or a swimming costume with shorts/leggings and a
sports top work well) as well as a change of clothes for afterwards.
Priority is given to those who have paid for membership but non-members are
also welcome.
Meet at the boathouse at 7:30 pm for transport to the Pool session.
This is unlikely to run since the river is too high - keep an eye on the socials chat as it may be cancelled
We
take wavehoppers for these sessions. These are extremely unstable and if you
haven't used one before then please don't come - swimming early in the morning
wouldn't be fun. Any questions ask Nick/Noah.

After a week long break, we're back baby! Following our debut at Yorkshire Polo last week, let's keep this momentum going!
In this session we will be looking both at attack and also working on whatever coaching points came up after Yorkshire Polo (I will come up with exact plan after chatting to Mark and the people there)
After this session we will have completed all the basics, and will be looking to improve our skills and fitness for the rest of the term.
Session Focus: Attacking principles, Managing space, Yorkshire Polo stuff (tbc)
Any questions, chat to Sarah. :)
This Saturday the 28th DUCC is going to run another intro to white water!
This is a trip that includes driving to a river about an hour away so will cost about £10. exact price will be worked out after the trip and it depends if each car is full.
In terms of ability - you must be able to paddle confidently on flat water in a straight line and be able to turn comfortably. A spray deck is also a requirement, so you need to have used one before, and be comfortable with it. If you have any doubts or questions please speak with Joshua or Nick, or any of the leaders at a session and we will happily advise you or point you to who to talk to.
Please wear warm, non-cotton clothes to wear on the water, ideally including a couple of fleeces, wetsuits will be provided but more layers on top are recommended for a first session so you don't get cold, you don't have to wear them all, but if you haven't got them with you you can't use them. Then also bring spare clothes for afterwards to change into before getting back in the car, a towel, lunch, snacks and warm items for after so that the experience is much more enjoyable!
Also, you need to have club membership before coming on this trip. Membership is £50 for the year plus you need to have TD membership which if you don’t already have will cost £35. Any questions ask Patrick.
Arrive for the boathouse at 9:00 and we will get all the boats and kit sorted and on cars before heading off to the river.
Signup opens at 7p.m. Wednessday.

New year, new polo season! We're far enough into term now that I think everyone could do with getting out some aggresion!
In this session we will be tackling (hehehe) all things defence. We'll be understanding 3+1 and 2+2 formations, and working on how to react when people jostle us!
Session Focus: Defensive Formations, Defensive Jostling, Communication
