Friday pool session.
This session will focus on Polo skills.
Meet @ boathouse at 7pm sharp. We will load up the cars and drive you to Darlington. You'll need swimming stuff (e.g. t shirt and shorts) and a water bottle/towel. Bring some snacks if you like - biscuits are provided afterwards. We get back to Durham about 10:45.
If you haven't been before, you'll have to do a short swim test. This involves swimming two lengths of a 25m pool (total 50m) and treading water for 1 minute. No specific stroke or great technique required.
If you unsign from a pool session within 24hrs and can't find someone to replace you, you will still be charged. If you do unsign, put a message on the group offering your place to people. Price for members is £6. Non-member price is £9.
This week’s social starts in pairs for a night of loving madness.
Everyone must wear red/pink!
*CANCELLED DUE TO HIGH RIVER LEVELS*
Another chill paddle session. Everyone is welcome even if you haven’t been kayaking before. Meet at 13:30, we will finish by 15:00.

We may also go on the ergs.
Please bring a raincoat in case it is raining (and warm clothes).
Anyone is welcome (newcomers encouraged!)
Also a chance to ask any questions about polo.
Any questions please ask Maddie or on the general or canoe polo chat.
Session will end by 21:00, please bring a water bottle.
Ergs. Bring water.
REFRESHERS!!
One of our best trips of the year, giving you a chance to
paddle some harder whitewater, and to learn important life skills such as how
to climb around a table, and how to remove the socks of your enemies. Have a
look on our Instagram for some photos from last year!
This trip if open to people who have been to at least one
intro to whitewater this year. (though ideally more!). any questions about
this please let me, or any exec member, know.
Costs will be around £50, which includes a £20 deposit
that must be paid into the club account when you sign up. (use reference
initial + surname + “Refreshers”, e.g. JSelwayRefreshers, and message Maddie once
you have done so)
The plan: We will leave as early as lectures allow on
the Friday evening. Waking up early to Lancaster Uni’s favourite dawn chorus
before doing some paddling, 1 or 2 rivers depending on how people are feeling.
In the evening, we eat dinner, play some classic DUCC games and have an all
round good time. The Sunday tends to look like 1 more river before heading back
to Durham to be plunged back into the horror of doing our degrees.
Further details will be provided once signups close, but if
you have any burning questions feel free to ask your favourite (or least favourite)
exec member.
Spaces are limited so sign up fast, I look forward to feeling
Charlie’s knees with you.
***This session has been cancelled***
