Friday pool session.
All welcome. This week will be entirely rolling coaching in whitewater boats.
Meet @ boathouse at 7pm sharp. We will load up the cars and drive you to Darlington. You'll need swimming stuff (e.g. t shirt and shorts) and a water bottle/towel. Bring some snacks if you like - biscuits are provided afterwards. We get back to Durham about 10:45.
If you haven't been before, you'll have to do a short swim test. This involves swimming two lengths of a 25m pool (total 50m) and treading water for 1 minute. No specific stroke or great technique required.
If you unsign from a pool session within 24hrs and can't find someone to replace you, you will still be charged. If you do unsign, put a message on the group offering your place to people. Price for members is £6. Non-member price is £9.
Save the date! Adventure ball is on Wednesday 3rd December.
Prepare yourselves, I'm in charge of decorations. More info to follow.
***NOTE: The river levels have the potential to get a lil *spicy* at this time of year so the session may be called off last minute. Please keep an eye on the group chat.***
THE WEDNESDAY WARRIORS CONTINUE AT MC 13:30-15:00
The usual relaxed Wednesday session! Open to all with beginners especially welcome, this is simply a really chill couple of hours on the river. If you want to get into kayaking or simply have a fun afternoon session on the river this is the session for you!
Please bring a fleece to wear on the water, spare shoes, plenty of spare clothes, and a towel. It is best to avoid jeans on the water as these shrink when wet. It is now getting very chilly, so an extra fleece is a good idea.
Any questions please ask in the socials chat, message the club instagram, or message Devon (Vice Captain).
Ergs.
Meet at 7am. Bring a water bottle and a speaker if you have one.
Ergs at 8pm on Thursday evening.
Session will be about 30 minutes from when we actually start.
Any questions about the session or where to actually go ask Maddie or in the general chat.
Bring a water bottle, everyone welcome.
Our final social of the term, so come along!
We’re starting at Collingwood Bar… but I won’t be staying there. I’ll be hiding in a mystery bar somewhere in Durham, and your mission is to hunt me down.
First team to find me wins the whole cash pot- so bring £5 cash to join the chase!

What's going on?? DUCC members will be kayaking/canoeing continuously on the River Wear, in shifts, for 24 hours between Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November.
Please put your name down for as little or as much time as you would like to do. You can use any type(s) of canoe/kayak and do whatever you like on the water (games, polo, social paddle, time trial etc). We will also be running 'Wednesday-style' chill paddles which you can sign up to. Nobody will be on the water alone, and only the most experienced paddlers will be on the river during dark hours. There will be a £3 participation fee, paid directly to the club's Movember fundraising link (https://movember.com/t/durham-university-canoe-club?mc=1). Please do ask family and friends to donate too! We encourage everyone to record their paddle on strava (or similar app) so we can add up the total distance paddled! Here is the link to a terrible spreadsheet where you can sign up:

Friday pool session.
All welcome. These sessions will focus on boat skills, getting comfortable with a spray deck and teaching you how to roll. After a few weeks we will focus more on canoe polo skills.

Another relaxed sober social. We will be going to the durham climbing centre to try our hands at some bouldering.
Meet there around 19:00, probably easiest to get the bus to the council offices. The climbing centre address is St John's Rd, Meadowfield, Durham DH7 8TZ.
I think it costs around £9.
