Any questions ask us on Facebook or email [email protected] :)

FSRT refresher for leaders.
Remember warm kit - it's getting colder!
Welcome to DUCC!
Because we can't get back on the water until (hopefully) the second teaching week, we'll be welcoming everyone virtually this year!
This will be an evening of relaxed games and it'll be a chance to get to know other members and ask questions.
The zoom link will follow but for now make sure you sign up to our mailing list (very bottom of this page) and join our Facebook group to receive communications.
See you there :)
Warning - due to the current viral outbreak, this trip is not guaranteed to run. If travel bans are still in place, or if members cannot get time to do this trip, this may not happen. If you're interested in the trip, let Martin know asap!
Dates are all completely preliminary - dependent entirely on when exams finish, and when those who are coming along can get out to the Alps.
We will be camping, cooking our own food, doing everything as cheap as possible.
Talk to Martin or Molly if you have any questions. I'd recommend you ask them for this one.
Cancelled: https://www.facebook.com/BUCSCanoePolo/posts/3071142389597897
Its time for the biggest university polo event of the year. This is a great chance to put all your polo skills into practice against other universities. Timings will be confirmed nearer the time.
The cost of this event will likely be between 20-30GBP but could be more or less.
If you unsign from BUCS polo after the 17th April you may still be charged the full cost of the event. Any questions ask one of the exec.
Cancelled in line with BUCS polo being cancelled: https://www.facebook.com/BUCSCanoePolo/posts/3059048877473915
Get ready for BUCS polo with a week practicing your skills. This is a great chance to play as teams before we compete against other uni's. We will probably have a session or two everyday with plenty of time to revise in between. Any questions ask one of the exec.Â

Cancelled due to Team Durham / University cancelling all DSO trips.
This sign up is just to gauge interest. Dates are definitely not final - we'll work that out when we know who wants to go. Usually the first week of the Easter holidays. We will be up there for 3 days to a week, paddling a variety of rivers for a range of abilities. I'd recommend going to a few white water sessions (barrage or river trips) before coming though. Any questions, ask Molly or Martin.

This term, the Monday pool session is slightly different. We will be going to the larger Darlington pool, meaning we have enough space for half the pool to be used for skills such as learning how to roll or playboating and the other half to be used for additional polo training.
Meet at Maiden Castle at 19:45. We hope to be back in Durham by 23:00.
Bring: swimming costume and t-shirt/rash vest - anything you'll be comfortable wearing in a boat (just not cotton!). Don't forget a towel & set of dry clothes to wear in the car.
NSR 2020!
If there's one event you need to get to in your paddling career, it's this one. NSR (National Student Rodeo) is a kayaking event like no other, where swimmers are winners and alcohol is more common than George swimming on eddy lines. A full weekend of carnage and - attempting - freestyle paddling. You don't need any experience at all: the best prizes go to the fresher paddlers!
We head down on the 13th - 15th March 2020, Friday evening to the Sunday night.Â
There's a party on both nights, and on the Saturday, the party is themed - this year, it's 'Games Night', so be sure to start thinking about costumes!
Prices are as follows:
Competing ticket - £53
Hoodies - £25
T-shirt - £10
Extra events - £5
When you sign up, make sure to leave a comment with any t-shirt/hoodie sizes, and let Martin know of any dietary requirements.
Signup closes on the 21st Feb, so don't leave this late!
