Erg Fitness Session

NEW SESSION!

16:00-18:00

Kayak erg fitness sessions to improve general fitness and endurance. These sessions are made for you to gradually improve each week, so try and come each week to you keep up your progress. All levels are welcome as you will be going at your own pace and setting your own goals.

You may come to at least one session per week, but if there are spaces you're more than welcome to come to more. Next term we hope to set this training up properly with set groups per session.

These sessions are set for 2 hours, but will likely finish after 1.5 hours. Come in normal fitness/gym clothes with clean trainers (so we don't walk mud everywhere) and a bottle of water.

Monday Fitness

We're back and grumpier than ever! READ THE BELOW NOTICE.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE - These sessions will be dark, and cold, and potentially quite miserable depending on how many alarms I missed that morning. Swimming at this time will likely lead to filling out paperwork because of the cold. As such, these sessions are exclusively reserved for club members who have either been to a morning session previously, or have been told by the exec that they are suitable. If you're in doubt, ask Martin.

Also, 7.15 start. Note the time change. Don't be stood around waiting.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Morning fitness resumes! Meet at the boathouse for 7.15am, off the water and dry-ish by 8.30am. Sometimes these will be super intense sprint sessions, other times it will be chill skills based workouts. No, I don't have a season plan for this. Bring gear that will keep you warm! And DEFINITELY bring spare clothes and a towel.

Small number of places for this session at post, but if more leaders are present this will change. If you're for some reason desperate to be out of bed super early on a Monday morning, keep an eye on this page.

Refreshers Trip 2022

Refreshers 2022!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

TLDR here:

Total Cost is £50 - this covers food, transport, and accommodation. Leave Friday evening ~6pm, return to Durham on Sunday in time for tea. Bring changes of clothes, towels, snacks, etc.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Yearly weekend trip to the lake district!

Whitewater/River inclined trip. This event is open to all skill levels - there is something for everyone here.

We leave Durham on the Friday evening. We'll be looking to do *at least* one river on the Saturday, and another on the Sunday. Time and weather permitting, there will be more.

We're staying in a village hall - bring sleeping bags and roll mats. If you are in need of these, please ask me (Martin) in advance! The club has a number to spare, on a first-come first-served basis. Otherwise, I can acquire these bits of kit, so long as I have a couple days notice.

We'll be cooking our own meals, so there's nothing else needed on your end. Asides from snacks, of course. Total cost for everything - food, accommodation, transport - is £50.

If you have any questions, ask away!
